The 3 Laws to Keep You and Your Team Motivated - Part 3
Being an Outcast is Demotivating
I’m sure you've seen this story play out in a favorite movie, show, or maybe even real life. Imagine the new kid at school who has no friends. He walks alone in the hallway and sits by himself at the lunch table.
While this is to be expected on the first day of school, if it continues for too long, this boy is going to really dislike going to school.
He will quickly become unmotivated about going to school.
Being Part of a Good Tribe is Inspiring
The same is true at work. Whether you are an introvert or not, we all need to have a tribe we belong to. It’s good for us to have a sense of belonging.
It’s healthy for our mental wellbeing.
It opens doors to new opportunities for work, home, and play.
You can do it alone, but it will be harder and longer than if you join a “tribe” of people.
Practical Application for You
If you’re not part of a great tribe, here are some best practices to get involved.
Participate in group events.
Be patient and persistent.
Respect boundaries.
Find common ground.
Show genuine interest.
Offer help.
Be positive and open.
Practical Application for Your Team
One of the ways to create a healthy tribe where everyone feels connected is through our Coffee with Champions team-building program.
Everyone gets to talk and feel like they are part of something bigger themselves.
Ultimately, we are creating motivation and inspiration by bringing the group together.
Till next time, be a force for good.
