Bridging the Community with Compassion: Officer Aaron Morgan’s Inspiring Journey
“Officer Morgan has been an active member since we launched Coffee With Champions last November. She is supportive of everyone, and her personal story and passion for the community is an inspiration to everyone. As the Public Information Officer for the City of Springboro, she is developing and promoting critical relationships between the police department and the community.”
- David Donaldson, President & CEO at Springboro Chamber of Commerce
Aaron was nominated as a “Force for Good” champion by Dave Donaldson of the Springboro Chamber of Commerce. So, I reached out to her to ask her a little about herself, her views on life, and her family. She had some great things to say. I hope you enjoy her answers!
Where do you work?
I am the Community Resource / Public Information Officer for the Springboro Police Department.
I have worked in Law Enforcement since 1998. I have been at Springboro PD for 10 years and in my current role for 1.5 years.
Tell us a little more about your work.
I pinch myself every day to see if it is real.
I absolutely love my job.
I wear a LOT of hats, but if I had to boil it down to a few sentences, I would say that my job is to identify gaps between the community and law enforcement and create ways to bridge them through education and community outreach.
I run our "Operation Santa" program at Christmas and just launched our "Blue Envelope for Drivers with Autism" program. I teach safety camps for kids in the summer and teach safety to businesses and groups all year.
My goal is to be a friendly face that people can connect with when they need help.
I'm not "Officer Morgan." I am your friend Aaron, who works at the police department and is available to guide you in the right direction. I have had people reach out to me because they trusted me, and we've been able to solve homicides in other cities.
There is no greater compliment than when someone says, "I know I can trust you"
“…she is involved in so much that it can be easier to say what she doesn’t do…She stays very busy and has proven to be a great asset to our agency as she serves this community.” - Aaron’s Supervisor said
What's the best advice you've ever received?
You can make a positive impact on everyone you meet, regardless of the circumstances.
If you could have an interstate billboard, what would it say?
There is no shame in asking for help.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I wouldn't change a thing. We humans are such an amazing creation as it is.
If you could recommend a book, resource, or podcast, what would it be?
A book that was really meaningful to me was "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed
A good book about listening to your gut is "The Gift of Fear."
Tell us about your family.
I am married to the most amazing, caring, and thoughtful man, Dan. He makes me laugh every day. He is the type of person who will see a person out to dinner and will ask the waiter to put the meal on our bill but not say anything.
I have four kids who are so similar yet wildly different. I love watching them grow into adults and find their places in the world. They are 21, 20, 17, and 15. I wish they could see themselves through my eyes so they can see how extraordinary they are in their own ways.
Do you have any interesting hobbies or fun facts about yourself?
I love to hike, read, paint, and find adventures in everyday places.
My first name is spelled the way it is because my dad wanted me to have the same opportunities as a man when I mailed a resume in, and he hoped they would look at my qualifications rather than gender.
My mom agreed because it is Elvis's middle name.
Where do you attend Coffee with Champions?
Springboro Chamber of Commerce
What are some words you would use to describe the Champions program?
This meeting is life-changing. It is absolutely a priority and has become my favorite day of the week. The people in our meeting allow themselves to be vulnerable and real.
What has been your most MEMORABLE workshop at CwC?
It's hard to choose, so I will say the first one, "What are you doing with your 4000 Weeks?" because it was at that meeting that it was clear that this was going to be impactful.
I leave every meeting feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle life.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Don't let fear hold you back. Some of the most successful and talented people have the same fears, and they've learned to push through them. I know it is cliche, but you really can do anything you set your mind to.
Thank you, Aaron, for making an incredible impact in everything you do. You truly are a Force for Good!

Want to build a team that grows every week, without expensive training or cheesy icebreakers?
This is the program we built for that.
