Kathi is the Executive Director of Troy Area Chamber of Commerce
Troy, Ohio, has a special meaning for Jessica and me. This is where we both grew up and met. We got married in Troy, and my family lives there.
Troy is a great town.
In 2022, we didn’t know anyone at the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce, but Jessica decided to ask if they would be interested in our Coffee with Champions program.
We received a quick response from Kathi Roetter, which kicked off a great relationship between our two organizations.
Since then, I’ve found Kathi to be an extremely competent and influential leader. She sees the big picture of where things need to go, is a strong community advocate, and understands people.
Kathi has a strong set of core values and is not afraid to tackle the challenging situations that come up.
I’ve been very blessed to get to know Kathi, and she is a strong addition to our Champions’ Host team.
Kathi recently took some time out to answer a few questions we had for her.
Where do you attend Coffee with Champions?
I host at the Troy Chamber of Commerce.
How long have you been involved with Champions?
Since we started in November 2022
What does the Champions Program mean to you?
Initially, the program was a way to bring more value to our members and expand our leadership development programs. The program has grown to be so much more personally. I look forward to Thursday mornings and the ability to sit with people from different backgrounds and discuss topics that allow me to grow as a leader. I learn something from someone in the room each and every week. The program has become the one thing that is consistent in my busy life and I look forward to attending each week.

How long have you been there?
Almost 10 years with the Chamber and almost 25 years in non-profit management
Tell us a little more about your work.
In my role, I oversee the day to day operations and strategic director of the Chamber.
The best part of my job is that each day is different - one day, we are coordinating a large event, and the next day, we are meeting one-on-one with a small business.
One thing that is clear to me personally is that I am passionate about celebrating my community.
The Chamber allows me to impact the community by impacting businesses and helping them grow, developing leaders through our Leadership program, and promoting Troy to visitors and potential businesses.
Ultimately, I want everyone to succeed, and I get to impact those around me through the work of the Chamber either connecting people, sharing business solutions or developing leaders.
What's the one thing you want people to know about you?
Integrity is essential to me; I value honesty and expect those around me to act with integrity in all their endeavors. I value honest conversations even if they initially hurt my feelings. I appreciate those around me who can provide feedback that will help me grow personally and professionally.
